Hamilton Masakadza, Sikandar Raza take small positives from rain-hit match

Zimbabweans 145 for December 5 (Masakadza 39, Race 32 *, Ebadat 2-13) tied with Bangladesh Cricket Board XI 56 for 2 (Shanto 22 *, Jarvis 1-8 ) [19659002] Sikandar Raza drives on the outside AFP

The rain ruined Zimbabwe's final preparations for its first test in 11 months, after the match lasted only 66 attempts, most in the third day. It was particularly frustrating for his bowlers who only had 18 over to bowl in a competitive environment before heading to the first Test in Sylhet on November 3.

Kyle Jarvis and leg kicker Ryan Burl took a wicket each before the game was finally canceled with BCB XI 56 for 2. Tendai Chatara, Donald Tiripano and Brandon Mavuta, who fought during the ODI series, only they managed to add 12 auctions between them.

Their hitters would have been relatively happier with their exit, although Brian Chari Craig Ervine, Brendon Taylor and Regis Chakabva could not take advantage of the opportunity. Hamilton Masakadza retired with 39 of 88 balls, while Sikandar Raza reached four limits in an unbeaten 32 of 46 balls. Peter Moor hit two sixes in his 26-ball stay before dropping lbw.

The side tour Sylhet on Thursday morning, for the first test that starts on Saturday.
